Cortes House leaves visitors inspired and enthused, relaxed and invigorated. The regency mansion is large – 10 bedrooms in the main house (and two bedrooms separately) – but it is never overwhelming. The reception rooms, with their delicate cornicing, their original fireplaces and enormous windows, are both elegant and comfortable.
The gorgeous, interior designed bedrooms all look onto an atrium bathed in light from a glass cupola above, and the grounds are the ideal place for true relaxation. What more could a guest ask for, to live like a laird? Cortes sleeps 24 people in the main house and on the lower ground floor are another two bedrooms. The house is set within five acres of lawns and woodland.
Cortes is only ever rented on an exclusive use basis, so you know that your party will be the only ones there. Total privacy. Cortes is available throughout the year and is ideal for family gatherings, holidays, parties, weddings, business events and team building exercises.
Exclusive Use Venue
Cortes House is a luxury "exclusive use" venue where the main house sleeps 24, with 8 individually designed double bedrooms, and 2 family suites. All but one of the bedrooms has en-suite or private bathrooms. The bedrooms with their luxury fabrics, designer rugs and high ceilings, give a sense of tranquility and space.
The bedrooms are dressed with sumptuous fabrics and their own personalised decor. Many have open log fires and original cornicing. For example, there's the Highlands room, with unusual tartan curtains, and a huge matching mirror above the open fireplace. There is a 4 poster bed and to crown it all, a wrought iron stag peers down from the main light!
The house also has 4 elegant reception rooms – a large drawing room with the original marble fireplace, a similarly spacious dining room with Regency wallpaper and cream drapes; a study to while away the hours with a good book and the homely “Red Room” which is a favourite for an after-dinner tipple. There is also a large home cinema with comfy sofas and a table tennis room for the more energetic. The large modern kitchen has a solid oak table where guests often congregate. It is well equipped, with two hobs, two sinks, three ovens, two dishwashers etc.
For particularly large parties two extra triple en-suite bedrooms plus their own kitchen/sitting room are available at extra cost. With this accommodation, the house sleeps 30 people. |
