Lainston House Hotel, Hampshire, England
There’s something about a beautiful country house hotel
that evokes a feeling of calm, serenity and intrigue – perhaps
it’s our grand fire places, the history, the slightly
creaky floorboards in the main house or the 12th century
chapel just a short amble from the front door. One thing’s
for sure, by deciding on Lainston House you’ve chosen
the right place and ambience for a productive yet relaxing
event.
The stunning 17th Century William and Mary house is situated in 63 acres of beautiful
Hampshire parkland and offers a tranquil haven of quintessential Englishness.
Each of the 50 rooms and suites have their own individual charm, ensuring a feeling
of warmth, luxury and privacy whether you stay in The House, Chudleigh Court
or the beautifully renovated Stables. The bathrooms are stunning with spa or
roll-top baths, all with walk-in stall showers, heated floors and the finest
Italian marble throughout.

The beautifully designed conference facilities, including the magnificently converted
17th Century Dawley Barn and complementing rooms combine with impeccably responsive

and events. Just under an hour from central London, Lainston House surpasses
the expected requirements of a present day meeting or event.

from motorised sports, tank driving, giant football, dodgems to clay pigeon shooting,
archery and duck herding. Indoors we can arrange, cooking with Chef, wine tastings,
murder mystery days or chocolate making classes with our very own Chocolate Master.
Alternatively, Lainston House lies between the Rivers Test and Itchen, arguably
the most famous and fabulous fly fishing area in the world! It is the perfect ‘beat’ for
beginners or professionals and the most impressive fishing experience for clients
and colleagues alike.
Private and Exclusive Use
If you would like to have the whole of Lainston House for yourself and your guests
or your conference requires high levels of confidentiality and security Lainston
House can be reserved on an “Exclusive Use” basis.
And when security is a major consideration we can seal off the grounds and provide
the highest level of protection.
Lainston House has attracted the likes of Roger Moore, Michael Caine, Jenny Seagrove,
Mariah Carey and Sting and more recently nearby residents Madonna and Guy Ritchie.
It has even hosted two US presidents! George Bush Senior regularly enjoys the
fabulous fishing and fine dining whilst President Carter stayed to watch one
of our outdoor plays on the lawns. In fact, George Bush Senior once famously
commented that the Lainston Martini was, “the best martini he’s ever
had”.
Elegant Restaurant
Taking its name from the magnificent mile long avenue of lime trees viewed from
your table, The Avenue Restaurant is an intimate, elegant restaurant
for lunch or dinner. Enjoy wafts of home baked bread, pastries and decadent afternoon
tea throughout the drawing rooms, as Lainston House is also home to expert Pastry
Chef Mark Tilling (UK Chocolate Master 2007).
Behind an old wooden gate, discreetly sheltered in the grounds lies a secret,
ancient, walled kitchen garden which has recently been restored beyond its former
glory. Apart from supplying the hotel’s award-winning kitchen with fresh
herbs and vegetables, the Kitchen Garden has become the perfect location for
an outdoor meeting, early evening drinks receptions or afternoon tea.
Minutes away from the historic city of Winchester and only a short drive from
Salisbury, Stonehenge and the New Forest, Lainston House is also the perfect
place from which to explore the surrounding countryside. |
