Ballinkeele Country House
Ireland .... famous for its beautiful landscape and
loveable hospitality. Ballinkeele Manor House is
both homely and gracious, and this stunning family home offers guests
peace, tranquility and the opportunity to enjoy luxury accommodation
and hospitality of a more gentler age. Bordering on the village of
Ballymurn, Ballinkeele is an ideal location, where the traveller can
slow down, relax, recharge his whole being and also see a beautiful
lesser known part of Ireland.
The Maher family has been farming Ballinkeele since 1808. The Estate
was bought in 1825 and the present house built in 1840.

up to the Bedroom floor. The Master Bedroom with its
original four poster bed and furniture enjoys fabulous views
over the surrounding countryside. Each of the other bedrooms feature original
furniture, large comfortable beds and lovely views. The
Superior Bedrooms all have bath and shower en-suite.

Country House Dining
The Dining Room at Ballinkeele House offers guests
the opportunity to experience first hand the Country House grandeur
of bygone years. Decorated in the period of the house with candle
light reflecting off the beautiful chandelier, guests can enjoy their
evening meal, whilst getting to know or as has happened, meeting
someone after 40 years as they sit around the old family table. We
have a small, but reasonably varied wine list from house ranging up
to Champagne. There maybe some guests, who would wish to dine at a
separate table this can be arranged.
It is an ideal situation for business people to have a business
meeting over dinner in a relaxing atmosphere with accommodation.
Food allergies are catered for and dislikes. Please note that
the Ballinkeele only has a wine licence.
The garden and places to walk for the guest is gaining more interest
as more paths are being worked on and around the Laundry pond,
we have the lake refilled and hope to have course fishing for
guests sometime this year. Ballinkeele House is perfect for family
gatherings or old friends get together, you will be most welcome.
Kilkenny, Waterford, or Dublin
Ballinkeele is ideally situated for visiting a wide range of historic
and archaeological sites and gardens. Kilkenny, Waterford, the
Wicklow Mountains and Dublin are all within easy reach and there are
six golf courses within one hour’s drive, and riding stables
just 30 minutes drive. One of John and Margaret’s large
breakfasts will set you up for a day of exploration or for your special
activity be it fishing, golf, riding, walking or go for a cycle.
Should you prefer to spend your days at Ballinkeele House you can play
croquet, cards or chess, or simply put your feet up and read.
You can be assured that when staying at Ballinkeele you will sleep well,
eat well, leave with a feeling of well-being and perhaps even a few
regrets at having to leave our little haven of peace .... but you can
always come back again!
